Up-And-Coming Band Frontline Live At Sutton Place, Long Beach, NY

*Frontline performing live at Sutton Place in Long Beach, NY (Photo By Peter Verry)

I had the opportunity to interview an up-and-coming band for a Web site I do freelance writing and photography for by the name of Frontline. Getting to interview the band and then see them practice was a great experience so when the opportunity came up to see them perform I was intrigued to see them live in front of a crowd. They performed for about four hours and put on a great show. Here are some photos from the show.

Big Daddy Kane Interview

Here is an interview I did with the legendary Brooklyn emcee Big Daddy Kane. Although it was cool to interview this iconic hip hop figure, I wish he (and his people) was cooler in person. Sorry, but having legendary status doesn't mean you can be cold to people. I just call it how I see it.

(Enough with the negativity, just check the interview out! LOL).

ESSO Freestyle (Two Parts) Live on StreetFM WUSB 90.1

Anything ESSO needs to be watched...repeatedly. This dude is an incredible emcee. Here he is on WUSB 90.1 StreetFM freestyling (and yes, he name drops me so I'm definitely pushing this to get MANY views).

Emilio Rojas Interview

Sorry for the lack of blogging–been a rough couple of weeks.

But...

I found this sitting on my laptop and felt the need to drop it today. Emilio Rojas is a dope dude and some of what he says in this interview solidifies that. If you're not up on him, get up on him; this is a star in the making.

Sneak Peak: J The S "Put My Cape On" Video Shoot Behind The Scenes

I had the privilege of getting to shoot behind the scenes at the J The S video shoot for "Put My Cape On" off his latest release, Wish You Were Here (and be in the video too, can't wait to watch myself 3,190,227 times when it drops). Here's just one photo from the shoot; video and tons of photos will be put up closer to the release of the video. The shoot, shot in two locations (Times Square Arts Center and a warehouse in Brooklyn) definitely was an awesome experience, complete with gorgeous (GORGEOUS!) women, great Mexican food, listening to "Put My Cape On" at least 64 times and a mandatory trip to Arby's on the way home (the roast beef and cheese sandwich was heavenly). Definitely check for more behind the scenes footage coming very soon.

ESSO Freestyle at Sin Lounge for the Anti-Socialite Release Party

At a packed house at the Sin Lounge last night, the homie ESSO put on a damn good show (on no sleep for seven days, it was REALLY impressive). Meka of 2DopeBoyz, Angela Yee, Sway from MTV and The Wake Up Show and more were all in attendance for the event. Here is the Harlem, NY native owning the Gucci Mane "Lemonade" instrumental with a freestyle.

Exclusive Two-Part Interview with ESSO

I definitely had a good time doing these two interviews with the Harlem, NY emcee. Not only is he super-talented, but he's very intelligent as well (anyone who has ever interviewed a rapper can attest to how refreshing it is to hear that). His latest album, The Anti-Socialite, released today, so why not post the interviews up now? Here you are for your viewing pleasure. Make sure you download The Anti-Socialite (link in previous post); it's a great project.

New ESSO: The Anti-Socialite (Free Album Download)

I love getting new, dope music in my email. Here is the long-awaited album by Harlem emcee ESSO titled The Anti-Socialite. This is a great project–definitely worth the download. Interviews with the young-and-ignorant emcee coming very soon.
