Men's College Basketball: Hofstra vs. UNC-W Recap (NassauNewsLive.com)

With all five Hofstra starters scoring in double-digits, a lead as large as 42 points, and the highest first-half offensive output in coach Tom Pecora’s tenure with the university, the Pride dominated CAA conference opponent UNC-Wilmington 93-54.

The win stopped the Pride’s winless streak at five games, the longest drought since 2002-03.

Lifestyle Connoisseur Exclusive Interview: Illa Ghee

Recently, I had the opportunity to interview Brooklyn emcee and former Mobb Deep affiliate, Illa Ghee. The emcee, who was first heard on the Mobb Deep song "Can't Get Enough Of It" off the 1996 classic album, Hell On Earth, spoke candidly about jail, his current affiliation with Mobb Deep, his independent work ethic, and why guys shouldn't be pulled on stage at a concert, only women.

New Music: Widmark Dimagiba "Blank Canvas" Mixtape

I received an email a few days ago from an artist by the name of Widmark Dimagiba. Anyone that lives in New York that is even loosely involved in the entertainment industry knows that emcees, deejay's, singers, etc. are dime-a-dozen, and even though I am open to music of all genre's and I give almost anyone a fair shot when displaying their art to me, I rarely find anything of value when listening to artists without some sort of co-sign that I trust and am familiar with. The mixtape I was sent with the email was suprisingly refreshing. His flow is very relaxed and easy to listen to and his style is very unique, which is difficult to say in today's music industry. So, with that being said, check out the mixtape from Widmark Dimagiba titled Blank Canvas.

New Music: Little Vic "Man On Fire" Mixtape

Although this mixtape was said to be released on Sunday, it became available for free download today for all you hip hop lovers out there (it's hip hop people, we're always a little late, don't be mad). Long Island native Little Vic (that's "Little," not "Lil," please don't lump him in with the endless amount of talentless "Lil" rappers, thank you), has released more heat for those need in raw lyrical abilities and break-neck beats. Mixed by DJ John John, this is one mixtape you do not want to pass up.

New Music: "No Apologies"- Donny Goines

I know it's been out for a few days so I'm a little late with the post, but regardless it's hot so you need to hear it. Paired with a hard-hitting instrumental produced by Australian born-and-raised producer M-Phazes, the self-proclaimed “legend in the making” provides a lyrical slap in the face of non-objective media outlets, fake tough-guy rappers and industry lames.

Free Oddisee Mixtape "Odd Winter"

One of my favorite emcees/producers, Oddisee, has just released Odd Winter, available for free download. This is definitely hip hop at it's finest. The "Carry On (Instrumental)" is absolutely insane! The only thing I would have liked more than just the instrumental itself is if Oddisee would have rhymed to this. If you don't have this in your collection you are really missing out on some raw, soulful, authentic hip hop.

*Check Oddisee's group, Diamond District, on the Lifestyle Connoisseur X DJ Mickey Knox mixtape, also available for free download (click here to download).
